I really want to, I hate seeing them locked up like that. :/

Not sure how long to keep the acclimation box going. I am worried about the Tomini tang after seeing how it went absolute warlord on my exquisite shortly after it was added. Luckily the exquisite was bigger and tough enough to deal with the hell for a little while.

Everyone else seems pretty cool so far. The exquisite goes up and flashes some, but will mostly swim around the box and appears curious. Rhomboid also seems really relaxed, and the pintail even came out of the pvc to say hello.

Tape a mirror to the front glass. That kept my tomini busy all day long.

I’m gonna give that a try. The pintail is swimming around in the box, and has eaten 11 mysis shrimp and 5 TDO pellets, and it’s just kinda hanging out. Meanwhile the tomini hasn’t even gone up to check out the new fish, so keeping it locked in the box doesn’t make much sense if the bully isn’t going up to get acclimated haha.

Just going to have to try and distract it with the mirror.

It’s a shame this book isn’t updated. I was going to make fun of it but saw that the Naoko was described the same year this was published. Also this is such a stunning Lubbocks, is it a variant, a late male??

After being so excited to finally receive my replacement Melanarus (actually 2) from dr. Reef after the fiasco of being sent a lunare by mistake. Both died. In two seperate tanks. Both properly acclimated. Received last thursday. The first was dead by Saturday morning and the second larger was dead this afternoon. I’m at a loss for getting wrasses. To be honest I know the aquatics manager at petco and got in an absolutely beautiful carpenters. It’s amazing to me that the petco stock has been healthier and hardier than a “quarantined” specimen. Just venting because this has been an almost 4 month ordeal.

Oof
I’m sorry. The two wrasse I’ve gotten from him both have done well eventually but I do try and buy wrasse in person. Just a lot easier to see it’s healthy and doing well.

That would be my inclination as well. Problem being is the lack of a store within about 150 miles. I guess I would be better off making the drive.

I don’t care for any personal names. I like the descriptive ones that make sense. Maybe I shouldn’t say anything. I still am waiting on a magma;)
Yes, imagine the disappointment when you find out C. wakanda resembles neither black panther nor vibranium in any way.

That lubbocki is a rather old male of the Indonesian variation.

As for naokoae, it was described in early 2009 but was brought into the hobby every so often under joanallenae previous to its description. I think even after it was described it was brought in still under the C. joanallenae name.

Love these two fairies (the third is also a loved one but he’s still shy like all in the Lubbocki complex are). Both of them are incredibly playful and just want to be held or stroked.

My third… he’s shy but if I put my hand in the tank he bites (I’m serious, this thing is all shy with the camera but hates my hand being in the tank with a passion).

@Tcook here’s the harlequin, she’s growing nicely (Clearly having a feast in this tank).

What a beauty. I’ve always wanted a pair of harlequins, but have always been worried about them having enough food.

Do you have a natural population of starfish? Or do you have to get starfish periodically?

Oh… I have a natural population of stars. They’re currently growing in my nano and in my 4’ (with this shrimp) they’re killing coral. And the population in the 4’ must be in the 10000s.
