R2R Secret Santa 2023
My Tank Thread
My Aquarium Showcase
Once again a very huge thank you to @Rubymoon286 for this amazing Secret Santa gift!!
Obviously didnt take me long to rip the wrapping paper of and get started!
Behold the beginning of The Winter Reef! My first venture into a nano tank
- Deskmate Classic 5g
- using the included pump for now, but may up to a sicce.
- stock heater
- I am also going to give it a whirl with the stock light as this is going to be mainly an LPS and zoa tank with no SPS.
IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH THE STOCK LIGHT PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
- Reef crystals salt used for start up with microbacter 7, and dr tims as a mix.
- ordered a lid and cup for filter floss vs using the sock.
- bio balls it came with are in there as well.
- We’ll see if i bump to a skimmer or not…again no sps and lots of zoas and lps so im not overly concerned with nutrients on the higher end.
I used the coralline covered rocks that came with it, but obviously its still pretty much dry rock since it’s been in a box. I kept the rock scape simple and not too high not so much for coral growth but swimming room for whatever small fish or two go in here. Ill post a theoretical stocking list later. For now it’s hurry up and wait while this think cycles
