I happened to spot these on your beta page, currently using it on my Trident and seems to be working great. Replaced the little BRS puck filter I had that after it got clogged.

Cool - thanks for the feedback.

How long ago did you get it? The final release version may have some updates your pre-release version didn't have.

If you would like, send me a DM with your order number - Depending on which version you ended up getting, we may send you some updated parts

Awesome

We'll get that shipped out for you right away.

What's your plan for them? Are you using them with a pair of Tridents, or other equipment?
Tridents? Ew, no. lol. I think I'm done with Apex forever. I am going to use them for now on my iV and my Reefbot Lab. Potentially future... Maven. We shall see.

Nice - let us know how that goes. I know a few of the Beta testers had ReefBots.

I'm not sure if it was the Reefbot or the Alkatroni, but one of them pumps air back through the sample line to clear it out. In that case, you may need to leave the Air Bypass port (watch the instruction video) open and mount it horizontally, depending on how much air it pumps out.

The main housing of the SW-POD as a space on the inside that will hold a 1/2in OD magnet, such as this

SatlwaterAquarium.com is first out-of-the-gate with a SWF-POD Video.

Check it out:

The SWF-POD was well received at Reef-A-Palooza California this past weekend. once people realized what it was for, and how it works - they decided to take one (or two) home.

You should too

Any future plans for a finer screen? I love the idea but not sure it’s enough to filter the brown crud in the saltwater mixing tank.

We certainly could make a the screens with a finer mesh. What micron do you have in mind?

The current mesh we are using, has the following specs

Mesh Opening (µ)Open Area %Mesh CountThread Dia. (µ)
2554669120

This has a good balance of performance and flow-through and doesn't get all clogged up too quick on higher flow through apparitions such as on reactors and auto water change devices.

We can go as low as 185µ, while still maintaining the thread thickens of 120µ for screen durability

Below 80µ thread diameter, the screen starts to get super delicate, and at that thickens, the screen can be as fine as 105µ with a 32% open area.

below that and you have to be very careful with the screen, otherwise you end up just ruining it trying to install it, but it is doable, if you are careful

I'd love an adapter so two feed lines could fit the single existing opening, for folks with the Trident and Trident NP.

the 90Deg elbow is fully replaceable - it just pops right out.

I know one of our beta testers did just that, and replaced it with a T of some sort. I think they even went as far as connecting like 4 devices to one SWF-POD

Of course, we would prefer you purchased one for each device :p , but splitting the outlet to multiple devices certainly does work.

Just got the email announcing this. Sold. Going to checkout now.

Talk about a product I need and didn’t know existed

Just setup a KH Guardian and the instructions say my saltwater in line needs to be filtered by 500 micron or less. Of course, this filter is not included.

I don’t run socks and was wondering how to do this and not clog up my new toy.

Thank you for making an awesome looking and functioning part to fill this markets needs

Awesome - glad we could fill that need.

So- the I believe the KH Gradian is one of those devices that injects air into the line to flush it out. There's an instruction video coming that will show you how to deal with that, since the 255 micron screen tends to want to hold air due to surface tension.

There are two things you will need to do - mount the SWF-POD on its side and open the air bypass port, and and one accessory you'll need - a set of magnets for mount it.

Mounting the SWF-POD on the sump wall
you can use a magnet to mount the SWF-POD on the side of you sump. The main housing has a space to accommodate a 1/2in OD magnet.

Something like this will work, or you may some magnets lying around that came with other products.

Air Bypass Port
the air baypass ports are located just below the cap, lined up with the VCA logos on the side of the main housing. you can leave the cap open by 1/2in turn, to keep the ports open.

With the SWP-POD mounted on its side, with the VCA logos pointed up, any air that is pumped into the SWF-POD will immediately exit out the top and the filter will re-fill with fresh water.

here is a very rough video that shows how the SWF-POD expels air. Sorry or for the background noise - we where building flow kits and that can get loud sometimes - LOL

Intersting and cool it can accommodate that.

There is a separate sw in and sw out line. And there is a sw degas function to deal with air bubbles in the sw in line.

I am not sure if this flushes the sw in line with air, or if it just pulls new sw until there is no more bubbles. Instructions re mot clear

Regardless, your product is already designed to accommodate, thank you for the heads up, I didn’t even know it had this functionality. Even better!

Thanks for being so engaged @Vivid Creative Aquatics !

One more question, does that push connect elbow have a metal retainer ring inside?
That's a great question, and one that I'm sure many people have.

It has a rubber o-ring inside with super tiny aluminum metal "teeth" on the plastic collet.

The 90-deg quick connect elbow is the same quick-connect elbow that we use in our super popular SPS - Salinity probe Stability Kit that has been on the market for over 3 years (maybe longer)

Here is a close-up video and a few pics of one of an elbows that has been in continuous use in our tank for almost 3 years. Not that I'm complaining , but i did have to mess up my salinity reading a bit to pull this out and take some photos of it :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I just wanted you to know the lengths we'll go to support our products and answer any questions.

So here goes - this elbow has been on the SPS Kit in our sump in your office tank for at least 2-3 years. This is the first time I'm inspecting this particular one since I installed it.

Awesome thank you. I wasn’t sure if that was tin or stainless in those.
