at this point, fedex is doing way better than them when it comes to service in the chicago area…
by a long shot!

I also have had 3 livestock orders delayed with UPS in the past 3 months. Fortunately 2 were CUC restocks, so they were fine, but the coral was def very stressed from the added day in the bags. This is in NJ, so it's pretty widespread I think. Might start requesting FedEx when I can. They seem much more reliable these days.

and fedex will actually go out of their way to try and help you…
if a flight comes in late, i’ve had folks in the dc here in chi for fedex, go back (huge facility) into the warehouse and try and locate it for me and will actually deliver it to my address in the afternoon on a truck they have for these type of situations…

ups just tells (if you actually speak to a human) you to **** off!
… then deliver the package late af, if it was supposed to be here on a friday morning they’ll wait until monday to deliver it,
even though they offer saturday delivery!

how does a priority overnight package not even get a courtesy of a saturday delivery when you’re the one that’s late and you offer the dang service?!

They don't have control over the plane though?

I would try to find venders closer to you to try and avoid bad hubs because there isn't much we can do about it.

My hubby got me a giftcard to a place in OK and I am in northern MN, pretty nervous about when that stuff ships, not going to lie. Seems like a lot of connections to make. Can't really be helped now, he didn't know.

they (fedex) have been,
incredibly friendly actually!

and i understand this is a regional thing…
always is
when you read through various threads on r2r.
and i did preface my og post with “service in the chicago area”

i consider myself a people person
in a literal
out in the real world
sense…
so folks will generally work with me.

but ups is absolutely impossible to work with!
it’s truly atrocious service when they’re the ones to drop the ball.

volume of packages is insane,
and will only get worse!
of these are the standards now…

They put the delay in when the plane can not take off due to weather bans from the FAA. The package still got to Chicago the same day early in the morning. Looks like you got the package that same day. I have always had better luck with UPS then FedEx. I always end up having to drive to the FedEx facility to get my stuff. The funny part is you don't know when FedEx is ever going to show up to pick up the package. I've seen stuff sitting in our building for days before FedEx ever picks it up. Just my experience.
