Tampa Bay Saltwater is Florida's first Live Rock farm and we've been Rock'n the Skies since 1984!
We are a small family run business that specialize in sustainable ocean harvested live rock.

Shipping ocean farmed live rock is tricky business. It is not only heavy and wet, but full of lifeforms that we care deeply about. Providing healthy living live rock to enthusiasts across the lower 48 is what TBS is about. We highly recommend shipping submerged rock via air cargo because it is the most economical option.

TBS Products that Rock the Skies are found in the LIVE ROCK category or in the LIVE SAND category. You can "add on" Treasure Chests or Live Critters & Merch to any air cargo order.

TBS Rock'n the Skies: Each order is packed in insulated boxes with care, oxygenated water and free ice/heat as needed. M & J personally deliver boxes directly to Tampa International Airport. We are shipping to over 125 airports via Southwest and Delta. Email us for a shipping quote. After placing an order, we will reach out to schedule shipment.

Hi there! Any ETA on ultra live sand coming back in stock?
:star-struck: Just dropped more inventory 15 min ago. :star-struck:

Keep in mind website categories:
  • Live Sand = air cargo shipping
  • Treasure Chest Live Sand = UPS shipping

Awesome! Couple more questions. With the shipping dates listed on the website, do you get to pick amongst those, or is it just whichever one is first when the sand is harvested? The reason I ask is that I’m doing a sort of hybrid approach with dry rock and tbs sand. The rockscape is probably going to take me a while, so I’d want to order for like a 9/30 delivery or later. So I was wondering if I just needed to wait before ordering, or how that worked.

And lastly, what would an air cargo estimate be for 80lbs of sand to RDU?

Hiya,

Shipping dates sometimes fill up quickly, especially air cargo dates. After placing an order, we email you the earliest available date options and you reply with what works best. Some customers order months in advance, so it's best to order and secure your place in the cue.

Ocean rock and sand have different complementary microorganisms. We encourage customers who want to use dry rock combined with ocean sand to order a bit of ocean rock.
(*Note in the BRS videos TBS rubble is in many dry rock tanks.) 8lbs + nano base rock (most economical) in the sump or rubble will aid in seeding a dry rock tank.

The TBS Package has a 40yr track record proving that these 2 products (sand & base combo) for cycling new tanks trouble free and avoiding the uglies. Without adding ocean rock, folks are missing a beneficial component.

Shipping would be <$106.

Rock on.

Oh yeah I was planning on getting the 8lbs of rubble as well, good to know I’m on the right track. Thanks for the info, I’ll get an order in tonight or tomorrow probably. Thanks!
