I have a 40g cube tank and was wondering if it is a terrible idea to add a baby tang into my tank once its ready. The tank has been running for about 8 weeks now and I have slowly been building the tank up and planning on adding a baby tang in the future, but was just wondering what others think. I know that any tang will out grow the tank and I am more than understanding of the fact that I would have to bring it back to the fish store I work at.

I'd do it. But many others wouldn't. Catching it won't be fun and likely isn't worth the stress on you and the fish.

I'm sure the catching part wouldn't be fun but working in a fish store long enough has made me become pretty good at it, but my whole thing with it is dealing with the tang police who are always so up in arms over things like this even though as soon as any tang i get reaches about 4-4.5 inches im pulling it out and swapping it.

Preferably not. A baby would work but not for long. Tangs grow considerably fast

40g cube would even be too small for a bristletooth tang variant.

Please don't light up a signal fire for the tang police to come.
