Swim bladder

I have 2 clownfish that if I put them in my 35 gl tank they swim upside down or sideways so I put them in my 5 gl tank and they are doing good but I put them back in the bigger one and upside down again . Do they have swim bladder disorder.

Yes both tank or the same just one is smaller but I have had a lot of problems with the nitrate I tried not feeding the fish for a few day iv done the water change and sometimes iv had to do it twice a week and still had problems but right now they are at 8.5 with the tester Hanna for nitrate

My ph is 8.0 ammonia 0 ppm nitrite is 0 ppm is that good

I'm more concerned with salinity, ph, and nitrate. Switching from tank to tank if those are different isn't a good idea. Also wouldn't recommend days without feeding. Most fish multiple feedings a day are best.

I put the water from big tank in smaller tank so I know they were us to it only thing is there is not much in smaller tank not even sand but that's tell I do a 6 week Duration. Them I'm putting them in a 10 gl hoping they'll stay up right to swim like now

Sorry it bleary they are hard to take a picture of . The male one is on his side and the female is pointing downward they are like that all day and night but not in smaller tank.

Oops the female is still upside down in small tank too but not all the time I'm just notice now it 5:57

No (see the last paragraph) - they shouldn't - it should be the same in both tanks - unless there was a significant difference in salinity. Many fish do not like a 'glass bottom' - with no debris - and they can act this way. A swim bladder issue should not come any go unless there are extreme parameters in each tank - One way to tell would be to answer the question 'how long does it take for the change to happen when they are moved from one tank to another?

All of that aside did you QT the fish? or are they in QT now? If in QT - be aware that if you are using medications with the clay pot, the levels might be lower. A swim bladder can be trauma, infection. Feeding can also cause these symptoms.

I am going to amend one of my comments. Often times (at least in fresh water) - moving the fish to a shallower tank (i.e. putting a discus in 6 inches of water instead of 24) can help since the water pressure is different. This MAY be playing a role.

it could be low water temperature. The light heats the surface of the water so that might be why they are at the top to warm up.

My temperature is no lower than 78 f and no higher then 82 f . But mostly at 70 f.
