I decided to put my money where my mouth is and get a degree in marine biology. For those whom have done so already, is there any advice you'd give for someone first starting out? I want to specifically study tropical marine sciences, with a focus in coral studies. I really appreciate any and all feedback.

start meaningful dialogue early in the semester/quarter with your professors. keeps you more engaged in classes, starts building your network, you can learn about their & their friends research as well as get good general to advise.
