lol. the 3D printer is great for making kid toys! I print white pla figurines and my kids paint em as an activity.
First lesson of 3D printing.... Print multiple copies at once... Kids don't like waiting... Now printing 3 Pikachus....

I've had issues with layer adhesion with multiple prints at a time. I think they were cooling too much. 3 pikachus, probably not an isssue. 30 urchin hats, the crowns got brittle.

Not sure how much it will help but I'd like to enclose the printer. Just not going to pay for the nice expensive creality one. Probably be a diy job.

In the winter and with petg for sure would help. I might try to order something that ships in that foil bubble wrap. I could probably buy just the wrap, but that's n fun. I could have been having issues that day because of the rain too.

Also, solid idea making the first prints go to the kids. This was another one of my early prints.

@Projects with Sam enclosed his. Have you checked out his build thread?

I'll see if I can find it later today and link it up for you.

It makes a huge difference. absolutely necessary for PETG.

If doing a single printer, I'd get the PVC extruded ceiling tiles for the back and sides and acrylic for the door.
3D print the standoffs. There are many kits for it on Thingiverse.

Not a bad idea, I have led strips coming from China for lights. Should brighten it up inside.

I also got the Sonic pad but haven't hooked it up yet. I like tinkering but don't have time to use a raspberry pi or anything.

I've printed a whole army of rabbits, they keep multiplying. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: kids requests keep rolling in.

Need to get a nem nest test print done one night.

My daughter kept asking for stuff... finally I was like what do you need all this stuff for.... apparently she was selling it in school...
Careful what we inadvertently teach our kids...

she had a list of orders from other kids.
