Hi, I won a 1 gallon 6 x 6 x 6 inch cube tank in a raffle. I want to make it a reef with mostly if not all soft corals and am planing my stocking list.
Any invertebrates/fish that get big I will move them to my 75
Filtration will be a HOB filter with a refugium and a skimmer, I will change the water every day to every other day about 10% and refill with my 75’s water
So far I’m thinking of getting a few of the following NOT all.
I’m trying to figure out how many I can get in this tank

(Corals) any/all below
soft coral frags from my tank
Leathers; Kenya tree, toadstool, devils finger, cabbage, other
Green star polyp
Mushrooms
Corky sea finger
Gorgonians
Others that I find

Macro algae multiple types

(Invertebrates)
rock flowers
Anemone crab
A sexy shrimp
Anemone shrimp
Pitho crab or some sort of crab
Some trochus snails
Pistol shrimp
Micro brittle
Feather duster
A small urchin if I find them
Pom Pom crab

(Fish)
Is this even possible
I’m thinking a few 1-2 inch fish that stay in the same place and don’t use
much space or some other perching fish

A shrimp goby like a yasha shrimp goby
Tailspot blenny
Clown goby
Much later like a year or 2 a red ruby dragonet
Hectors goby
or go with as spice only and get sea horses

Sorry for the long post, any ideas, edits, or advice is appreciated
Thanks in advance for all the help

I have a 1 gal too that I also won at reef a palooza!
so for the coral list you have there, anything that grows tall may be an issue. Honestly, you can grow hammers and other LPS if you want. even a rock flower will be good.
As for fish... no. too small for any fish. a snail or 2, a hermit crab, maybe a sexy shrimp, but thats it.
Here is my tank for reference.

Personally, I would hate to think of a fish in a 1 gallon tank.
Even with the inverts i think your very optimistic. I wouldn't put more than hermits and snails in there, and rock flowers.

With rock and corals in the tank, there is litterally no room for anything to move. Respectfully, I think your overestimating how much space there will be.

I woukd make this an invert tank with mushrooms, xenia, zoas, star polyps, and things that encrust with a low profile. I would stay away from the Kenya and leathers because of how they grow. Just my 2 cents though.

Working on a stocking list and I’m thinking of doing dwarf sea horses. You am aware of their challenges and I think it will be a cool addition and fun challenge. I do believe I will be able to care for them properly.
*I am still in early research and opinions can change

I got a light and hang on back filter. I also have pods that I’m going to add later today. I added sand and rock from my 75 and hopefully that helps with the cycle.

My current plan is to do rare, uncommon, unusual or inverts that I think are cool (will post a stocking plan when I decide/research one)

After researching sea horses I think they might be too delicate and I won’t be able to care for them while I am away.
