STN acro, but brown skeleton

So as soon as coral tissue comes off there already brown skeleton of coral, not usual white. Like the coral is sick inside out. Just a side note. I had this coral for several years, and in 2 separate aquariums. In both tanks they start stn around same time.

I'm familiar with acro rtn, stn, but not with brown skeleton. Its not algae its actual coral color.

My best guess would be bacterial. I think the brown represents an overproduction of zooxanthellae. Poor water quality is usually to blame as the jury's still out on what exact bacteria it is that most commonly effects acros. Usually a more than usual greenish tint will be the first signs of infection followed by the brown.
