I plopped Cookie (A West African Biscuit Starfish) on an algae pellet and now there’s some in his mouth wohoo I hope he eats it!! And I realize now more than ever how important testing water quality is. I currently test for ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, salinity, ORP, pH, calcium, and magnesium! I’m going to pick up an alkalinity test, carbonate hardness, and phosphate test at some point soon! I got my water tested at the fish store so I guess I’m confident. The corals however, seemed to be doing fine and now they closed up well my GSP my others are fine…I’ll figure that out later but I know corals can close up for days at a time. I need to figure out better lighting I think.

Most including Gsp require medium water flow as well as a little iron in the water
Do you know what kits they used to check your water?

API Aquaspin! And I may try moving the little guy to lower. Some corals are fine others are closed and open.

Just an FYI...

Carbonate hardness is the same as ALK(in regards to the hobby).

If your tank is fully cycled(looks like it has), you can stop testing ammonia, and nitrites.

Usual tests are
Salinity
Temperature
Alkalinity
Calcium
Magnesium
Nitrates
Phosphates
