Red back asterina. Risk - medium
There are approx 14 species of asterina. Some eat zoa and some don’t.
It’s very hard to identify some of them. But the red back ones are higher risk.

Hmmm. I have more zoas than any other type of coral. If it wanted to eat zoas, it could.
I’m leaning toward putting it back if the red back isn’t an immediate disqualification.

Yea I wouldn’t say get rid of it.

But I would watch the zoas and if you start having issues with them disappearing or having a melted/mushy look, then I would be checking at night for these guys
The majority of these species are harmless. It’s only a few they are zoa munchers

Exosphere’s vanishing - losing colony need help
No idea here everyone Bought a colony of 25 heads of exosphere. Looked very healthy. Within a few days I was down to 15. Looked like all the lower and smaller ones melted and turned to mush. I dipped it in revive and coral rx and gave a light scrubbing with a soft brush and got all the mush...

If they are like other asterina’s they can reproduce/spread quickly making it a challenge to contain. Definitely keep a close watch. Pretty cool looking version you have though
