Are these just brittle stars and the guy just happened to crawl in the hole or are they eating my coral

They're almost certainly just living in/around the coral rather than eating it (so I would expect they're innocent here).

Micro brittle stars are great clean up crew. I doubt its eating it but using the blasto as a cozy home.

Picture under water showing what actually bothered you about the coral growth/health would be better.

Agree with previous posts (micro brittlestars are beneficial and pretty much everywhere in most of our tanks),,, but you also have a fair amount of sponge and/or tunicate growth around the base,,, which I also doubt is necessarily bad.
