I'm looking for some help identifying a spot on a Yellow Angel I have in QT right now. Fish was received on and entered QT on Tuesday. No signs of any symptoms, fish seems healthy at this point beyond this spot. At first I just thought it was a darker area and was just watching to ensure it didn't grow in size. Today I noticed that there's actually something sticking out slightly from the spot. Almost like a spine or something pointed. Any thoughts from the pics? I'm doing a HTTM QT and have treated with 1 dose of PraziPro so far, but have not done H2O2 yet out of precaution.

looks like an infection from a nick or similar injury. To be safe/precaution - treat with seachem kanaplex which is a broad spectrum medication easily absorbed by this fish. Add airstone during treatment

That *could* be Uronema - but the raised portion might indicate a simple injury. Yellow angels are prone to uronema though.

Here is an article on Uronema:

Thank you, both! This is my 2nd Yellow Angel going through QT. The first passed suddenly after 13 days. I do believe the first one died from either Uronema or a bacterial infection. Whatever it was spread very quickly and seemed to come completely out of the blue.

I will continue to monitor and will go with a treatment of Kanaplex for now. Thanks!
