What is the best setting on the ballast to drive these bulbs. I currently have it on 250w, I believe I can drive more power through the 250hqi, or is Super Lumens best? Thanks!

I’m not sure if these bulbs can be safely over-driven like radium’s, but I’m sure someone else will know. Have a pic of the tank?

What is the bulb SE or double ended?

Super Lumens is meant for DE bulbs. I would use the 250 watt setting, otherwise you would be over driving the bulbs and they may not like it. Nice fixture!

Some Mogul base bulbs can be overdriven. Not sure about this brand.

Next time you’re due for a bulb replacement, check out Radium 250 watt which can be overdriven. They actually burn very white/almost yellow.

The 250 watt radium was one, not sure if it's made any longer, I ran it years ago. Not to mention the m80 hqi ballast has not been made for years. But yes some could at the expense of bulb life, Does your ballast have 3- 250 watt settings? dgf91 I thought you were original poster.

Not the ReefBrite mogul.
I believe DE ReefBrite could, but not the SE.
ReefBrite has it's own ballast that actually "reads" the bulb and gives it what it should. Using a ReefBrite ballast with the ReefBrite bulbs will allow the best efficiency for the bulb.
