I’ve had him for over 6 months but last week the Zoa’s started closing and staying closed or dying not sure but I hope he isn’t dying. But this has been spreading from just two zoas to now what’s shown in the photo and I’m not sure what to do or what’s wrong I’m looking for pests but I don’t see any then again I lack the trained eye to spot them if they are there.

any ideas to what could be wrong with them?

It look like they going to melting or some bug eating zoas, i had this experience long time ago when i change my light intensity too quick and one of my CB Bowsers melted away and luckily i notice before the entire colony die so i only lose 1 polyp lol. Did you change the light intensity recently? And what is your water level?

A little over a month ago I did I was running only blues and I changed that so that I’m running both blues and whites on my sb reef light. Of course I lowered the intensity of the blues to not over saturate the corals and I’m running about 200 par on the zoa.

salinity :33 ppt (it’s usually 34 but I doubt that’s the issue)

ph is 8.28 (I run a co2 scrubber recirculating off my skimmer, my ph is pretty steady)

ORP :343, Temp: 76.6, Alk:8.46, Cal 421, Mag:1356 Nitrates: 0 Phosphate (ULR):0.05.
(I have a trident so my alk, cal, and Mag are usually pretty steady)

I haven’t tested my trace elements yet I try to test them frequently but I usually test them monthly but I’ll test them again right now and let you know.

Maybe you should give them a bath with Coral RX to see if there any zoas eating flatworm coming out of the colony. I have dips every corals before i put them in my DT tank and they all look happy to me once i did it.

I hope not but I will give him a good dip, I don’t have a QT. Will that be a problem? Can I dip him and put him back in that tank?

Yes you can dip and put them back in your tank. But if there any thing come out of your colony than you probably have them multiply in your tank already. This is temporary treatment but best result you should have a QT tank setup and cycle then dips all your corals before moving it to QT tank. And do entire DT clean. That way they don't get anymore critters in the future and save you more headache.
