Something growing on the side of my acro

The stuff to the right is growing off the acro (from my point of view) Initially I thought the acro was dying or something.

Is this something I need to deal with and would I deal with it.

That looks like bryopsis or a macro algae.
I would take it off the plug.
Pull what you can by hand.
Use a soft toothbrush dipped in h2o2 and gently brush it. You may need to do this a few times too get it all. Try not to get the frag flesh to much. Algae won't grow on flesh anyway.
