Someone should make a reasonable line of sump tank stands.

I know most entry level aquarist probly perfer an active cabnit underneath, not to mention it allows cheaper materials. But it’s kind of mind boggling the lack of sump ready but sturdy, nice looking tank stands available.

No questions just figured others shared this feeling - esp with how common having to make your own stand is.

When you understand the method to make your own stand and factor in the cost of materials (not to mention shipping), I think you'll find that it's not a cheap process. Find a local handyman or cabinet maker and have them build one for you :)

I think there are plenty of options for sump-ready stands, they just aren't cheap.
I forgot to mention reasonable lol. I find it hard to believe if they can make tank stands that can support 800lbs for under $300 - they can’t make the middle shelf optional without us questioning the stability.

Oh I’m sure it would be much cheaper, and not too complicated but I imagine a lot more people may enter this route if it was less intimidating.

true - I think it's demand limitations. A lot of folks want custom sized stands... Also, I hate how short most fish tank stands are! That's the main reason I made my own stand for latest build.

tslot stands are also super easy to assemble and parts can be outsourced from china/amazon rather from the expensive online stores that mark up prices. nothing beats the wood stand in terms of prices and of course stability.

Making a truly custom stand that looks nice, sturdy and flat is a chore. Also expensive. I am finishing mine up right now and materials alone are several hundred, not to mention all the tools. I went overboard but why spend the time to make one if you are going to do it cheap. Not finished but an idea for you. I still have to hang two reactors and make the trim. It is double panel 3/4" plywood with maple exteriors. Not sure why the picture loaded upside down.
