still avariable

Yep, PM'ed.

I've gotten a few spam or what appears to be spam 'members' messaging me on this. Please be legit. I will ship to the lower 48, but will not ship to a PO Box nor will I ship to a broker who in turn will ship this over seas (unless I can validate that you're legit). -- Thanks!

Funny, I sent you a letter, but you do not reply, if you do not sell please reply to the letter to let me know. I am very happy to buy your skimmer but disappointed with what is happening

I wasn't going to call you out directly in public...but since we're here now...Your messages leave me suspicious of your legitimacy and the Facebook reviews and then some of the USA > Vietnam shipping company which you listed as the shipping address leaves me even more suspicious. I am choosing to protect myself and the items which I am selling therefore I will not be providing you with my PayPal information which you have requested numerous times per day since I created this FS thread.

I have sold plenty of other things on here to validate that I am legitimate seller and thus I'm not overly worried if my suspicion of you incites disappointment.

Do you use paypal? you sell me buy and my friend will pay you via paypal and paypal will protect you, your just check the paypal account and send the skimmer to your friend's address i see no need to worry too much In this issue, I have not encountered any problems with the seller before and I will continue to search for my aquarium equipment: Apex, GHL dosing and pump Abyzz.
If you sell, please send paypal account to me,

Ok thanks .

Because this doesn't seem suspicious at all...2 users, same exact shipping address wanting the same skimmer...When I google that address it takes me to a Facebook page for a company that ships things from USA to Vietnam...fine...but when you read the reviews, it tells the full story...

Putting this out here so no one else gets scammed.

Nthoai is my friend

Really? His PM suggests otherwise. What else you got?

If he's already on here, why would he need to go through you to purchase the skimmer when he could clearly do it himself?

Hey @revhtree, any Mods available to clean up my FS thread and deal with these scammers? Or you can leave it as an example too. ;)

A quick comment here:

I have experience working with these forwarding companies that receive stuff in the US and delivers to other countries and in my experience, nothing bad has happened. I do use them because I live in the Dominican Republic. The process is, when we buy stuff online we ship to the US address of the company, they use a unique code related to the owner usually followed by the name and in 2-3 days we receive the package. I do use my company because they also have insurance for everything they receive. I have made a lot of transactions on Amazon, eBay, this forum and other forums and everything goes through very well.

I'm not saying that he is a scammer or he isn't, or saying that there are not scammers out there looking to steal stuff from people this way. I am just saying that there are people like me, who don't have the opportunity to live in the US that uses this type of shipping, thanks to globalization, for an extra fee to the buyer and no extra shipping fees charged to the seller.

...and I totally get that and I would assume that you would be upfront about that at the beginning of the conversation as well.

I would get one message where the English was HORRIBLE, then another where it was a bit more grammatically correct...which then triggered a bit of my skepticism. Then I get something that the guy lived in Vietnam to which I said I couldn't ship international. He responded that he was actually in Cali and he was shipping to Vietnam on behalf of his friend. He said his friend would pay me and then I would ship to a different address...Red flag for me.

I google the shipping address and come up with a Facebook page. It's full of reviews about how people were scammed, or had fraudulent charges on their credit card with items being shipped to this address. At this point I'm not dealing with it, but I'll entertain the conversation.

Then another user provides me the exact same shipping address, which I then question. In a separate message says he doesn't know about the other guy...but the other guy said that he's the friend that is purchasing the skimmer. So this doesn't make sense at all. Why wouldn't the 'friend' just be the person to message me and deal with the transaction.

Just saying that there's a lot of red flags here and last time I checked, PayPal doesn't give me any seller protection if I ship to an address that varies from the address associated with the PayPal account...

You must ship the item to the shipping address on the transaction details page in your PayPal account for the transaction. If you originally ship the item to the recipient's shipping address on the transaction details page but the item is later redirected to a different address, you will not be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection. We therefore recommend not using a shipping service that is arranged by the buyer, so that you will be able to provide valid proof of shipping and delivery.

Then I get an email address...so out of curiosity I google it. It's listed on a website with hacked user accounts...3rd result.

Bottom line is that they have the opportunity to move along yet they don't...

I completely understand you. That buyer behavior it is just really weird. I just wanted to give information on how these shipping methods work.

What buyers can do to protect the sellers is having a PayPal account with US address. This way no additional address needs to be provided. FYI you can change the address in Paypal but you can't change the country and that's why if someone in another country wants a US address needs to create a new US account.

No way would I ship this skimmer oversea's way to big a package. I am sure you will find someone in the states to buy it . But it may take time as people looking at this type of skimmer generally have the money to just buy a new one which is 400 dollars more.
