Well, finally decided on a tank. Found this lovely thing out in wild lands of Wimberly, Texas. (There were deer stealing corn out of the garage when we showed up).

Inner dimisions shook out to the following LxWxH=47.125”x23.125”x23.5”(not sure where to measure for the overflow height)

The tank came with a stand, a 40ish gallon (supposedly custom) acrylic sump and a sizable protein skimmer, it’s a reef octopus but I’m unsure of it’s model as of yet.

Lots of work to be done of course, but I am thoroughly excited. And can’t wait to start cycling. But more so I am ready to aquascape this beast!

First order of business is to scrape off all this silicone…there was a foam back panel or something…it does get rather thick in some of the corners and I am a bit concerned.

More photos to come, but I’ll quit rambling and just sail away.

I am definitely planning on it. Though will be slow going. If anybody has any thoughts on how best to deal with the silicone in the corner, that would be appreciated.

how bad of an idea would it be to just pull the seam and redo it? Would I need to redo all the seams? Or would it be okay to just do one edge? I don’t really like the idea of resealing, but I think I can.
