I have 7 clowns, each a different species and all captive bred. They are all well fed and extremely peaceful with everything in the tank. I have observed that about 4 of those clowns are a tightly-knit clique, with among others, the skunk clown being left out.
The skunk clown, perhaps to make the clown gang jealous, has decided to befriend my yellow watchman goby. They can be seen together roughly 8 hours a day. Ever since becoming friends, my watchman goby spends at least double the amount of time poking out of his house, while the skunk clown routinely checks his house to see if his friend wants to hang out. If he doesn't, the skunk clown will do a few laps around the tank, and check back every 20 minutes or so.
My hypothesis is that the skunk clown is the most similar fish to the watchman goby, so in addition to being lonely, the watchman goby is also happy to be friends as well.
Please enjoy the attached pictures! I will be getting a camera for the sole purpose of photographing these two (and my Haloween hermit, who likes to go on rides around the tank on the back of my giant conch)
