Probably late for most folks, but since its just about dark here the fireworks are coming out in full force and its obvious the air quality has gone down hill fast. I have an outside airline for my skimmer and I didnt want it sucking in all of that sulfur, heavy metals, ash, etc.

Those of you with outside airlines for your skimmer, what do you do during the 4th?

I have hastily hooked up a large piece of pipe with a bunch of carbon and connected that inline to my skimmer, unfortunately it has added some restriction to the airline and the skimmer is struggling a bit more, but its only for a day and hopefully, the ph wont drop too much.

if youre worried seems best to just unhook it from the skimmer until tomorrow

Thats definitely an option, (#1, "nothing, I let it ride) in the poll above.

I'm curious what everyone else is doing. I don't consider this an emergency and I believe (we shall see) that I have taken appropriate action. I run high ph, today I topped out at 8.62 with a low of 8.41 (yes those numbers are legit, I calibrate the probe every 6mos, could be off by .05 or so but not much). I'd rather not see what the swing would be if I stopped pulling O2 rich air into the tank.
