Came home today to my angelfish laying on his side next to the glass, to now hardly living. This morning fish ate and was swimming just fine and same goes for last night ate really well, Mysis and nori. I have had him for around 8 months and all other fish are doing great!

No signs of external parasites or damage to the outside of him, any idea? I can take a picture if needed.

Pic and even video under white lighting will be helpful
Is fish responding to feeding now?
Is it breathing normal or labored?
Any change in salinity-temperature-ammonia levels since yesterday?

Nothing changed water wise parameter wise that I can test other than Temperature dropped 1.5 deg to 77. Moved him to QT, he did have labored breathing in the DT but now about an hour later it’s normal breathing but he is still upside down. When I moved him I did do a 2 min fresh water dip.

Not eating and ammonia 0, only change would be the temp but other fish not bothered at all

Thank you for a Very clear video. This fish does Not show signs of trauma or unusual marks, agreeing with your observations. The bad news is- This fish is moribund in which it may or may not recover and there is no medication that can be recommended other than increasing oxygen with an airstone.
Light off will keep fish calm but its a mystery as to cause- I dont see signs it crashed into objects or of aggression, etc.
This is a case of hopes of recovery, and hoping for the best but expect the worse.

Thank you for the fast response! I always try and do everything I can when something like this happens. Trying to keep him calm and I can put an air stone in there. Only other thing I’ve noticed is he seems tense like he is “stretching” but doesn’t stop.

Ahh, that's a shame, the fish looks good otherwise. These angels are very often collected with cyanide, which cases latent mortality, however, that typically is seen in the first few months, not 8 months later. To be honest, I have had such a poor history with this species that I stopped acquiring them - finding people who have kept them more than a year is pretty rare.

I won’t be getting another one. As I don’t like to support that type of collection and with high mortality rate it’s not fair to the fish in my eyes. He did pass away over the weekend and towards the end it did look very neurological.
Thank you all for the insight and responses
