I don’t think so, mine is way darker and they have way more white thank mine is. I’ve had him for over 10 years. Every year he goes thru a period of about 8-10 weeks where he won’t eat anything at all. Then he has s ferocious appetite, eating about 20-25 of the big sliders 2-3 days straight then he eat a cpl times a week 15-20.Gymnothorax moringa
That's a nice looking eel!
I think he is smiling!!!Here's Ralph. He was being rowdy because he was about to eat

Hi I love your tank. What is the red coral called? I have never seen that beforeAwesome eels!
You shouldn't have any problems with him. Eels are pretty much immune to common aquarium hobby parasites. Finally moved the first residents out of QT and into the display which meant there was an opening in QT for a new tenant. Snowflake eel was always in my list and may be a mistake but Petco had this tiny one newly in stock so taking a shot. I’m no expert but what it’s worth I’ve been frequenting this Petco for a while and they seem mostly on top of their game and to be honest I’ve been disappointed in some of the local shops so I figured since he’ll have the QT tank to himself I would give it a try
During acclimation:

Just make sure you have some PVC in there where he can get his whole body inside and a tight lid. Eels escape QT all the time. He also might not eat in QT.
