I have been having an unexpected experience with shaving brush macroalgae. It keeps producing new shoots/reproducing and grows bigger which I like. However, after about a two weeks of a new shoot growing it gradually turns from dark green to white and starts disintegrating. Luckily it is continually reproducing faster than it is dying off.
This is a display fuge separate but connected to a reef aquarium, water parameters are the "norm", and lighting is an AI Prime Fuge light with a AI Blade Grow.
You can see in the picture below, this offshoot of the original specimen is growing nicely. However, I am already starting to see whitening on the bottom right side. Any suggestions on how to keep this macroalgae from dying?
