so have i have a pair of sexy shrimp and they like to perch on my sps sometimes. last night i noticed one on a mariculture colony and when i woke up it had lost a bunch of tissue. did it rtn from being stressed that it was being walked on all night, or is the sexy shrimp eating the tissue?

I would highly doubt a sexy shrimp would eat healthy SPS tissue, perhaps it was eating away the already dying tissue thus aiding the process of tissue recession but appearing to be the cause.

I've had groups of up to 8 sexy shrimp and i have never actually seen them be coralivores (although they do not mind picking through the insides of coral to get at food). I cannot be 100% sure tho that your sexy shrimp are not eating your healthy SPS or causing damage.

How long have you had the mariculture piece? Some can be difficult to keep IME.

I dont think sexy shrimp would damage you sps as well.. check you calcium and all you level to make sure u ok with your water and mariculture dont really like strong water flow at all
