Hello everyone, After fifteen years of reefing and a break of some time, I decided to make a nano max. The tank has been in the water for just over 3 months. In the photo you'll see that I've built a 'floating' reef on which I intend to plant only zoanthus. The first strains have arrived. However, I'm wondering about the power of the reefled. Now I'm at 40% blue and 8% white (about 21k). Because I noticed that at 60% blue, my initial setting, some were closing. But with my old seneye V3 probe, at 60%, I have 150 PAR at a depth of about 5 inches between the 2 zoas in the middle. I have my doubts about the results I'm getting from this one. At 40%, that seems very low to me. Note that the pro seller keeps the zoanthus at 150 PAR in their tanks.

If you have any opinions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks a lot!

Love the rock work. How does it float!

Your light is strong and close to the floating structure. Is that about 12”?

40% isn’t unheard of. I light my entire reef from 1 light fixture at 40% power

Thanks for your reply. In fact, a curved plexiglass plate is glued to the back of the tank. Then the rocks are placed on the plate and fixed with hot glue. You just have to be patient for the silicone to cure between the glass and the plexiglass but it holds up well.

The distance between the reefled and the rocks is a bit shorter between 8 and 12", but good call

Just suggestion feel free to pass on it

I got these from a forum member selling them and am going to make mini dome acan colonies. You could do this with zoa and add a few zoa islands in the sand

That's the plan for the soil, with Acanthastrea. On the floating rock, I really hope I can only put zoanthus. I'm going to leave it to see if it makes a difference and if the closed ones reopen after a while...

Asian Acans…
They are larger, more hearty, they keep their color and don’t morph into solid red like the other acans

They're superb! I'm already going to see how the zoanthus are going to behave, and then I'll decide...

It's hard to find this setting for the reefled, at 35% the zoas are always closed... Maybe it's something else because colonies at identical levels are completely open...
