what a shame. thats a lot of damage, i wouldnt trust it. 450 gal will do a lot of damage.
Ive had a similar tank and waited for it to further split- Never did but if you decide to setup, Two things I would do:
a- Take it to garage and fill with fresh water and allow to sit at least 5 days seeing if any further stress from water weight or leakage
b- Go to church Every Sunday !!
As much as I know you want to set this Beauty up, I would go for a replacement. Difference for me is tank was used when I dealt with this. New should be 100% flawless
My guess is it would probably be ok. . . that said. . . with 450 gallons I don't know that I would risk it.
If getting it replaced is an option, I would do that for sure. If replacing it isn't an option, maybe there are ways to further brace the tank. . . not sure.
As someone who works with glass everyday for the last 18 years, I’d be extremely worried about that tank.
the fact you can see parts that are cracked (the parts that look like a bb hit it with the circle) means that the glass still has stress in it and can/will eventually even that stress out by popping.
weather that pop only effects the area around the chip or if it grows across the front pane is too much of a liability for me to have in my own house.
Thanks Reef2Reef fam im going to skip on this private saleLooks bad man I wouldnt risk it. Horrible blow all the way around especially if it was self performed. Lessons learned I guess that's what this hobby is all about.
No I didn’t know who to ask. Then I thought why not ask the Reef2Reef communitywell thats a relief for you. i thought you bought it and damaged it carring inside.
