Hi all - I am about to set up my Teco 500 Chiller and I'm not sure how I should configure it.

I have my temp set to 25c with the Reef Factory Thermo Controller.

In order to retain the constant 25c how should the temp of the chiller be set to?

I have my thermo control set to 25c so my heater kicks in at 24.8 and fan at 25.2. My heaters thermostat is set higher to 25.5 but is controlled by the TC, so I’m guessing you’d set your chiller to 24.8 so when it kicks in it’ll cool the tank to the desired 25 and stop cooling.

Figure out the cycle of your controller. 1 degree? 2? This is where F might be better since it can be more granular if you do not have tenths of a degree.

Short cycling your chiller can be bad.

Then, put your desired temp in the middle. I use F, so if I want the thing at 77, I set the temp at 77 and have a 2 degree interval so the chiller comes on at 75.9 and goes off at 78.1. This lets the chiller run longer.. so I range from 76 to 78. I don't really need one anymore, but when I did it only probably came on once a day.

Mine comes on at 80F and off at 77.7 (just above where my heaters will turn on). It cycles about every four hours in warmer months.
