Securing HDPE sheets to tops of metal stands

I have an 80/20 aluminum stand and a larger HDPE sheet for a top that I’d like to attach so it’s not just freely floating. The tank size is 180 gallons, so it might not really move once filled up anyways.

I know I could use something like VHB tape but that will be fairly difficult to ever remove or adjust.

I was a little worried about doing something like a pilot hole and putting a screw or bolt in place, as I don’t know if the material could compress with this weight and make a pressure point on the tank from the fastener.

The HDPE sheet is 1/2” thick.

Some double sided tape. Once tank is on and full it ain’t going anywhere. Just be sure once it’s full you smack it and say the magic words. “That ain’t going anywhere “

I'm figuring much the same. I'm using black PVC for my cube tank. I plan to just drill a pilot hole and countersink the screws into the extrusion. I also plan a pad under the glass to help with any potential issues. I figured the hdpe along with the PVC wont have significant deflection issues.

Also if anything, I'd just use double sided tape as you said, once it's filled, not much is gonna force movement, outside of a 'act of God'.
