hi fellow reefers, a bit of help if you can please.
Saw a lovely Sea Fighter Wrasse in local store but had to leave before i could ask a question about it.
Question is can I keep the Sea Fighter with my 6 Lined Wrasse in my 120 ltl mixed reef tank?
Tank is also home to a Midas Blenny, Striped Blenny, Pair of clowns, Dwarf Angel and Bi Color Gobi

Cirrhilabrus rubeus?

It is a great fish but unfortunately a 6 lined wrasse is a very aggressive wrasse that will attack any other wrasse it is kept with. Most wrasse do well with other wrasse with the exception of those little devils.

6 lines “can” be aggressive, but not all are. I have two in separate tanks and have no aggression issues out of either one. I have 8 wrasses in my 120 and the biggest jerk is my exquisite fairy, even then it isn’t particularly violent, just flashes his fins out when he is irritated.

Cirrhilabrus Rubriventralis

Also known as the long finned fairy wrasse.

Fairly aggressive and should get along fine with the six line.
You’re right it is the rubriventralis. Still not sure with the sixline though. They’re sometimes good and sometimes vicious.

All depends on how aggressive the six line is. But the rubriventralis is rather aggressive also.

Well thanks for the replies so far.
I haven't found my 6 line to be that aggressive with any of his tank mates. It will sometimes rush up to the Striped Blenny but stops before any contact is made. The 6 line is the smallest fish in the tank and I just love its green tail. I have decided I am going to try it out this weekend,. I will purchase the Red Fighter on my way home on Friday. If its not working out then my local store is getting a visitor. My wife has just informed me she wants another Strawberry basslet to join the clan.

Use an acclimation box. You'll be able to tell right away if it will work or not. If the six line could care less about the box, it will probably be fine. If the six line is attacking the box trying to get the fish inside, you'll know you need to take it back.
