Sea cucumber in the way of water change

So I got a sea cucumber a few days ago and he seems to be perched right on the water line. I'm slightly worried that because of evaporation he will be exposed to air and get angry. But more importantly if I try and do a water change I will drop the water level and expose him to air which would not be good. Is it ok just for a second or should I try and adjust the flow so he moves. I would rather not move him myself.

I would think that is he is unhappy with being exposed to air from evaporation then he will move himself so he is totally submerged again. I would be more concerned about keeping the evaporation/water levels from becoming too unstable and swinging salinity. As far as a water change - I'm not really positive but if it were only for a very short time he would probably be okay, but if I were you I would move him to be on the safe side. If you don't want to touch him, perhaps use an old credit card or something to gently scrape him off the glass?
