Lol I think he’s sleeping. I think that was a 9:30 times drop.LOL, well looks who's back! Hi Shane.
It's not likely the rocks leaching, that would be really fast for leaching. Keep in mind that my tank is a 20g AIO with a high bioload. So a little food goes a lot further. It's usually two pinches of TDO, 1/8-1/4 a cube of mysis, 4ml reef energy AB+, and 5ml phyto each day.I've just started testing once a week, and dropping it off at my LFS for them to test for me. I usually take a water sample around 11-Noon. I usually feed the first time at Noon. I have noticed a little higher if I feed then take the sample in, but it's only about .02-.04 higher than if I just take it before I feed. .5 is a heck of a jump though, maybe rocks are leaching phos? Idk, I'm still learning all this too
Yeah, mine jumps when I feed frozen. I'm a little excessive, one cube of mysis for the two tanks, but I spot feed the Acans, Duncan's, and all the lps which consume most of that one cube.

I've finally got my automatic filter roller designed and installed so that should help.
I'm not too worried though, as long as the corals and fish look happy and the tank is clean, that's what I'm after.
as long as your filtration can handle it, fish are happy, corals are happy, and there are no algae issues. then you're good.I think I feed a little excessive too. I take frozen omega enriched mysis, take all the cubes, put them in a bowl. Then take the reef variety pack food. 4 different types of food, mix them with the omega mysis. Then take 1tsp and freeze them into half spheres. Then I feed those 4 times a day, 12, 2, 4 and 8. I don't know if that's to much, or not enough but seems to be working so far lol
no, sorry, i should have been more clear, I made my own and control it with my apex. right now I'm using Klir filter material but ill probably try the reefmat material next since I don't want to hurt my copepod population.Which filter roller did you go with? We have the reefmat 500 and I love it. Then again, never used filter socks, so not sure which is better.
the plank is the only feeder ive seen capable of feeding fine particulate foods. i wouldn't worry about feeding them when you travel.Speaking of fish food. Any suggestions for a good food source for Gonis that I could use on an auto feeder when I go on vacation? They are only eating frozen and when I feed TDO pellets, the clowns are the only ones eating them since they stay at the surface.
Oh nice, that's impressive, 3d print it?no, sorry, i should have been more clear, I made my own and control it with my apex. right now I'm using Klir filter material but ill probably try the reefmat material next since I don't want to hurt my copepod population.
that's what's interesting about my tank, .2-.7ppm of phosphate and basically no algae besides maybe 2-3 dime size tufts that I leave for the emerald crab and starry blenny to nom on.I definitely have some algae issues lol. Mainly Bryopsis currently, and I'll be manually removing most of it tomorrow. Didn't get around to doing the WC today, so I'll do it all tomorrow now.

yep, it's 3d printed parts+ screws+heatset inserts+ $12amazon motor+15motor speed controller, neptune MOS sensor+fleece filter. No PSU because it plugs into the EB832 accessory port for control.Oh nice, that's impressive, 3d print it?

Oh whoops lol. I was wondering why these answers weren’t making sense. It autocorrected to Gonis. I meant GOBYs lol like the fish.I don't spot feed any corals in the tank, I just broadcast feed. And I don't do that a lot either. Heck, I don't think I've put any type other than frozen food in for over a month now. The only thing not happy in the tank is 2 gonis, the other 2 are happy and extended lol. Funny enough, my first ever goni from SBB, the cousin it, had been retracted for awhile. Then after moving it some, it's finally extending.
overfeed a bit and turn on the powerheads higher or more aggressively, briefly without running the return. the clowns wont eat everything and the increased water movement should cut the surface tension and allow the food to sinkOh whoops lol.
