So two helix dead center up that high, 200 par is ideal for sps correct? So they’re pretty on the money with just 2 bars. 3-4 probably would be more than sufficient…. What % was it running at? 100%?

Not dead center. Mine are on the outside edges of a 25" deep tank. From bottom of helix to highest frag rack is 17". Most of the frag racks are 20" under helix, including the goni that saw 180 par.

You could likely light a 180 for SPS with 4 6ft helix.

200 par is torch par, personally i want to see 350-450 for SPS but your mileage may vary.

Varies. For acros, XL pieces get the 1.25", boogs get the 3/4s. Maybe they use 1" but doubt it, never measured either though.
i was about to print some frag racks so i have somewhere for them to sit while i figure out location, but they all 1" openings. back to the drawing board.

1" openings are huge. The smallest plugs i know of are 3/4" and thats the disc on top. Id guess the stems are 1/2" to 3/8" i can snag the caliper real quick so you dont have to guess or wait.

The stems are chunkier on an SBB plug than a normal plug

@stoney7713 may have some print files he’d be willing to share

Nice. I mean my helix I’ll probably have closer to the water. Two bars are better than 1… god my tank is such a random assembly of ‘just be enough to keep everything going’ talk about frustrating. Eventually I’ll smooth it all out. Being a newbie sucks.

Thats the way it goes man and its cool. You didnt blow crazy cash on stuff you didnt like in bulk. Got to figure it out and scale into it. Half the crap doesnt matter starting out, the other half is all the same.

Youll find killer tanks under black boxes, radions, and everything inbetween. Jebao or mp40s

GHL dosers or kaomers.

Its whatever youre successful with and meets your goals. Save the nice novelty crap for when your able to clip some stuff and pull some money back out of the hobby.

Yeah. I mean with this order I have a decent chunk of coral coming… I don’t even have dosing ready but water changes for now should suffice.. and you’re right. It’s whatever keeps it alive and going and I can fine tune it later.

Playing keep up with the Jones’s you’ll only fall further behind. Thanks for the pep talk man.

We’ve all been there at some point. That’s what makes it fun is finding out what works, what doesn’t, upgrading as you go, and selling some to put back into the hobby
I for sure plan to sell frags but for fun. Not for necessarily profit. Either way I look forward to my path ahead of me!
