I have a 75g reef tank with a small sand sifting star fish. He's not getting to all of the sand bed before it starts turning green is it ok to add more than one?

I would not add another I have one that I got when he was only one inch in diameter and it took him a little while to get to the size that he covers the bed in a day he is now about 4 1/2 inches in diameter you run the risk of loosing both to starvation if you add another. I would add some more hermits like the mexican reds they work over the bed real well on the top of the sand just my opinion.. How big is the bed and how deep?
I would up the flow a little, let the sand shift on top and take care of that, sand sifters will eat all of the good organisms in your sand, not just the bad ones. Nassarius snails and some hermits will do the trick.

I have 170lbs of live rock so it's not that wide. I added 80 nassarius snails a couple of months ago. I have blue leg hermit and white legs in there too.

that is probably about 60 too many for a tank that size imo. That along with a sand sifting star will wipe out your sand bed in no time if they havent all ready.
