Hi all,

Due to the difference in alkalinity between my tank (170ppm) and my Reef Crystals salt mix (>180ppm), I've decided to mix my saltwater a few days prior to water changes. After mixing my water for 4 days, I've noticed its alkalinity dropped faster than expected (157ppm). I think it might have something to do with the high temp in my basement (28C).

Does this alkalinity value indicate that other components of the water have decreased in quality too? Can I just dose some dkh to it and use it for my water change?

I'd hate to dump this water but would if I have to.

Thanks in advance!
