Salt creep

I had some issues with water splashing on the wall around the overflow so I capped it with a piece of back acrylic cut to size. I used a Tupperware bowl to fix the sump splash. Cut a hole in the middle of it and ran the tubing through. I have had to touch up paint my stand a few times until I got the splashing to completely stop. If you can, put all hoses below the water level to minimize splashing. Salt is such a pain.

I don't get it on my walls, with an open back canopy, but I've got my tank pulled out a foot from the wall, maybe thats what helps me.
Only other thing would be to totally enclose the canopy, and use fans to keep it cool inside.

I got this stuff awhile back and sprayed it on the back wall by the sump, on sump lid, and used a rag to rub it near the overflow where salt creep could possibly form. Honestly I run a pretty low flow through the tank/sump so didn't really get any creep anyways but used it as a precaution

Hopefully this post is not too old for a response. Here is my question, to clean salt creep or salt build up has anyone ever used Salt Away? Salt Away is a 100% non-toxic, 100% non-harmful and 100% biodegradable product used to flush boat motors after using them in saltwater. Most posts I have seen reefers just use vinegar. Both need to be rinsed extremely well after after the residue is removed. Any thoughts?
Not sure I just assumed that acetic acid is not something you would put into a tank. What do you dose vinegar for? Have you ever used Salt Away, to wipe off salt creek on the outside of your tank or do you just use vinegar?
