Ok , I’m super stoked to start this build ! Little frustrating to start . I picked up the tank little over 3 week ago and had a cabinet panel damaged and after dealing with my lfs and finally emailing Red Sea the panel is on its way. Let me start off by saying this tank is a beast ! It’s heavy as hell ... that being said here is the equipment list .

Reefer 750 xxl
Synergy reef cl44 sump and ato reservoir ( currently being built )
Reef octopus varios 8
Bashsea media reactors
Zen reef heater holders
Anything Acrylics sock replacements
Vortech mo60’s
Apex Neptune
AI hydra 52’s
125 lbs pukani ( curing in my garage )
Bubble king 180 double cone skimmer

I’ve done a plumbing upgrade to standard already. I finally built my own mixing station with RODI unit ( I used the brs 5 stage 150 gpd).

Still have so much to do , but I’m taking it slow so I can enjoy every step . I will include a bunch of pictures and continue updates as I progress . I also just started a channel on YouTube R&J Reefs where anyone can follow the build and all my projects as well !

Couple pictures of how I did the plumbing upgrade to standard , while still having it removable from the overflow. The smaller red pieces are just test pieces ..

Following! I plan on getting this same tank next year.

I like your mixing station. I built one this summer and it has been a true workhorse. I noticed you put the unions before the gate valves though. You will have to completely empty the tank to unhook them. Of course you're not really going to move those beasts with water in them anyway, ha.

Little update...

So I finally decided on a skimmer ! It was between the vertex alpha, BK , and reef octopus.
I decided on the reef octopus elite 200 . Just placed that order along with a bunch of fittings , fluid flow sensors for the reactors for the apex system. I pretty much have a good idea how I’m designing my manifold for the reactors , I also decided to give the manifold a dedicated pump
( varios 2 ) I will be running the varios 8 for the return. I also run the varios 2 on my mix station and it’s a great pump . It’s dead quiet and a work horse . The reactor gate valves cane in today , I went with king Bros red/white . My synergy reef sump is almost completed and should be shipped soon . I also ordered the matching ato reservoir and will be incorporating it into the overall design in the electronics compartment. I’m really excited to get started on the plumbing and electronics compartment. I will be fabbing templates for the mounting of all the modules and display screens so I can prepare for the mdf . A lot of pictures to come soon !

Bleach curing is the way to go ! If you have not before it’s very easy . After 2 weeks of bleach curing and 1 week of saltwater curing the pukani looks great ! Water was barley dirty and had hardly any smell . Only 7-8 more weeks to go . I’m going weekly water changes on the cure . Here are some pictures and a link .
