Roller Mat Question

Some history...I have a Pro-Clear 90 right now. It only has a primary drain and a return line. I've purchased a Innovative Marine EXT 150. It has a primary & secondary drain line and of course an emergency overflow.
I'm going to purchase a Red Sea roller mat, I understand how to tie in the primary to the roller, what do you do with the secondary drain? without any experience with a secondary drain, I'm not sure how much water comes out of it.

You hook the ReefMat hose up to the primary drain (the pipe with the valve, far right in the image below). The other two are emergency and secondary emergency, so you want to the water level in your overflow just below the lip of these so that they only come into play if the primary drain becomes blocked or clogged. Basically any water that drains through those two is not routed through the ReefMat.

You could order another hose and run the main emergency drain (pipe in the middle above the 'no glue required') and run it into the other side of the ReefMat if you really wanted to.

Reefmat has 2 inlets you could buy a spare hose with coupling from there page. What I am planning to do with my frag tank.

Thanks for the information. I knew what to do with the primary & emergency drains. Didn't know how much water went down the secondary drain.
Now when my tank shows up, I'll be ready to plumb. I'll post the build when I get it.

Sounds great. Let us know how you like the new IM sumps - I'm curious to get some first-hand impressions of it!

I will! It comes with the 39. Looks like a nice sump. I will have to modify it for the roller. Hoping it fits in without too much cutting.

FYI, instead if buying a second hose, you can use an end from a union or 1” unionized valve from Lowes(can’t remember which) to plumb it. Just make sure all the flow runs downhill into the reef mat

I’m doing it this way but my tank hasn’t arrived yet. If I have a problem keeping nitrates up, I may disconnect the 2nd drain and let it go directly into the sump. So maybe don’t glue them..
