My float valve leaks when my RO/DI system gets full. At first, I thought I had a bad valve, so I bought new valves, but those leaked too. The leaking does not come from the gasket where the hole is, but from the nut where the tubing meets the valve. My guess is that it leaks because the tubing is cut crookedly. How do I fix this?

As @fishguy242 mentioned, recut the tubing to get a flusher cut. Also, many of the 1/4” plastic screw on fittings, like the one in your first picture, have a built in seal as part of the fitting. These type of fittings do not require a compression ring. If yours does, in fact, require the compression ring, shown in the second picture, then I believe you have the ring on backwards.

As @crusso1993 pointed out, the compression nut is on backwards. The small end should be pointing towards the float valve. This way when tightening the nut, it tightens down on the compression fitting.
