Guys i just saw my RFA release a foggy substance for about 20 seconds and then it shriveled all up. Is this how it spawns or is it dying ?

I’m asking cause for the past 2-3 weeks i’ve had a bunch of RFA melt. I have no idea why my parameters are good and i’ve read that they are hardy and can handle dirty water.

Could it be cause I don’t really target feed them? I broadcast feed frozen PE mysis every day and RR once a week.

I would guess it was either pooping or spawning, but it sounds more like pooping to me.

As for why your RFA's melt, thats a strange one and has nothing to do with being fed mysis or not. We will need a lot more details about your tank, "my parameters are good" doesn't help us to help you. What are the parameters, lighting, flow, tank age, salinity?

This was last Wednesday. Since then I’ve started dosing Kalk so pH, Calcium, and Alk should be better. Ik the phosphate and nitrates are a bit high but i thought RFA liked dirty water.

Most likely waste from digestion if black/brown in our experience! We do tend to find they shrink up a bit after/during going to the bathroom!
