Hello all! Returning to the hobby for a long time away, was gifted a 30 gallon tall by a sister-in-laws friend, doing water changes and reef snow dosing the tank is doing great so far ready to start adding a few LPS.
pH 9
NH3 ~0
NO2 0
NO3 ~ 5 PPM
Temp 80-81
Salinity 35 ppt
CA 520
KH 9
PO4 0-0.25 (API testing)

I also picked up an ADA 48 gallon i will be drilling to do salt but this will be a great re entry for me to practice some balance.
I reused the water/rock everything was established 3+ years so far fish are doing great 2 clowns 1 damsel.

Side note I really don't like rimmed tanks with so much inside but honestly a free tank that I saved from looking awful is worth it, unfortunately I cant sump it but will concentrate on manual maintenance for now.

I was out of the hobby for a decade or better myself, when I decided to get back into it I couldn't believe all of the new equipment on the market. I'm sad to see good ol' live rock has gone away.

Oh, it's still around. Tampa Bay Saltwater has some good stuff. But you're right. I've been out for about 12 years and have had to study up on all the new hardware and procedures. It's a different game now.

First day of testing this week after my 15% water change on the weekend same results except I dropped the temperature to 79 during the week, wife and I bought some LPS mystery frags and a rose anemone on AquaSD, great prices on there. Still looking for a rimless 45-50 to move this tank into so I have been cruising craigslist and the marketplace here looking for a deal. I dosed the tank after my WC with coralline in a bottle, the pink strand to try to speed up the growth/add some different variation then the purple in here. Also going to grab a Nero 3 to replace the old pumps in here, I can just move it over when I find a tank I like better but so far so good! May start doing my own pods as well. Changed AI 16 primes to the Saxby preset in prep for the frag and emerald crabs coming (very bright). Manual top offs suck but I'm glad I am able to balance it for a few weeks. Thanks for letting me rant :D
