I'm going to be setting up a 150 tall. Has two overflows (previously Durso) that I will convert 1 to Herbie with open channel and siphon and the other to emergency drain and return.

Return should be mostly straight up from sump so distance shouldn't be more than 5-6ft total. Will aim for 4-6x turnover.

I was looking at a Jebao DCP-10000 Sine Wave pump since I've heard they are a pretty good bang for the buck and quiet but it's out of stock at Amazon. Any thoughts on if the DCP-8000 or DCP-13000 would be acceptable? (I believe they can be tuned down by controller down to 30%) Or would there be another pump recommended for this set up?

Thanks!

I have never used those return pumps. But, I have a Varios6 that has been running nonstop for about 4-5 years without a single issue...and absolutely no noise with my herbie design. They cost a little more, but they are very good, long lasting pumps.

I love my Jebao return pumps. I have 2 DCP-5000 that have been going strong for a few years now. No issues and completely silent. I run about 400 gph with mine turned way down so I think you would be good with either one. If you can't get the 10000 I would go with the 13000 and just turn it down. The the 8000 would work perfectly fine as well just would need to be turned up(obviously).
