Anyone have any good tips for removing coralline from the silicone in the corners of the tank?

Add some asterina stars, they will eat most of the coraline, they will multiply quickly if theres alot of coraline in the tank, then when theres less and less there #s will come down to just a few which keeps it in check so it doesnt grow everywhere to the point it becomes a pain in the butt. If it's on the silicone I would just leave it, it's not gonna cause any harm. I haven't had to scrape my glass in years to get the coraline off it as the stars seem to eat it before it even starts growing on the glass. It's also handy because they keep it in check on the rocks thus the rocks can continue to effectively filter your water instead of being clogged up by the coraline.

I had a problem with asternia stars a while back and removed them from my tank when their numbers where getting out of control. I don't mind manually removing removing coralline from the tank in places I don't want it. Just don't want to damage my silicone in the process

I would not use a magic eraser as the plastic rubs off and gets into the fishes gills. I know there are two sides of this argument but I feel being safe then sorry is better

I actually use one to clean all of my panels after a flipper magnet scaper scratched the glass. I wish I had used the card from day one, because it’s awesome.
I guess not only can visa buy you a tank, it can clean it for you too. Lol

Ya I too had them multiply to huge #s but they eventually went back to a small population that still exists today. Messing with the silicone holding your tank together can be risky especially if using sharp objects, one wrong move and it could create an unintentional nightmare. If I were you since no harm is being done i would just leave it alone. Can you get a pic of the area you want to remove the coraline from?

Already gone. Turns out all I need was my finger. Since the silicone is rubbery, I was able to poke and prod at it and it flaked and crumbled off. Turns out I already had the right tool for the job. Lol

It’s also the only card swiping my fiancé will let me do aside from buying groceries.
