Removing Copper from Quarantine tank

my tank is around 160 gallons or 600 liters total volume and I need to remove 0,5 ppm ionic Copper from my quarantine tank. My question is I want to use Cuprisorb but I only have access to 100ml which they claim only treats 63 gallons or 240 litres. Could I use only a 100 ml?
I am guessing it will just take longer as it can absorb 12 ppm Copper.
How long would it take to remove.

Your QT is 160 gallons? Wow!

I would say if the cuprisorb treats 63 gallons then you need 3. Or regenerate it twice.

Agree on cuprisorb. I prefer to do a major water change which reduces copper level and let cuprisorb do the rest finishing with a copper test when completed to see if any trace level remain

I get that, but if Seachem claims it can remove 12 ppm of copper and I only have 0,5 there would be no reason to regenerate it. It would just take 3 times longer than if I buy 3.

I assume the tank contains no calcium sand, rock, etc that would have absorbed copper. If you happen to have any scrap calcium products ( I have a lot of old bleached coral sitting on shelves for example), try sticking that in the tank. I'm curious how fast that would absorb the copper. If you've ever tried to use copper in a QT that contained calcium, you probably remember how difficult maintaining the copper concentration was.

I agree - best practice is to bulk remove the copper with big water changes and then due to the law of diminishing returns on water changes, remove the smaller remaining amount with cuprisorb.

FWIW after a quaratine session I change all the water anyway: just because…

In my setups the only calcium/absorbent based things in the tank are those those porus biospheres in a bag. I just remove them to a 5gal bucket with a powerhead and 2 bags of cuprisorb

Would just remove the water and start fresh....
