Moving in 2 weeks, so I am going to use this opportunity to rescape and try to rid my rocks/sand of a few pests (multiple eunice worms and 1 unidentified crab/shrimp/don't really know).
I want to try a 1.040sg dip to see if the worms come out of the rocks. problem is that some of the rocks have corals attached--one rock that I know houses a eunice is covered in mushrooms and zoas that are on the rock and not on frag plugs. Another has trumpets (moveable), blastos (movable) and an acan (not movable).
Tank: Fluval Evo 13.5g
A few questions:
1. Will the hypersalinity dip hurt the corals?
2. Does the hypersalinity dip kill the microbial population? Coraline algae?
3. Will this work? Anyone have recommendations on duration of dip, methods for getting pests to leave, etc?
Thanks!
