I set up my tank with AF rock.
Fairly substantial aquascape to volume.
Tank is bare bottom & 16 months old.
Plentiful coraline & doing well.
However I have two bags of marine pure in sump that I rinse regularly & an equal amount of rock that's been in sump for over a year.
The rock is gathering detritus & causing a nitrate increase.
What's best practice for removing it?
Slowly slowly or just remove due to marine pure?

Try adding a powerhead in the sump, I find the flow really helps push all detritus into one spot so its easy to clean out. The little holes and cracks in the rocks should be kept clear of detritus, its not good if they get clogged up.
