Hello,
I've recently purchased a Reefspace 200 tank and set it up so it's over 3 joists instead of 2. I'm not very good at DIY but I know it's over 3 joists and its against a load baring wall. I was wondering if there's much else I should do to make sure the tank is secure, As the tank is 200 litres, 115kg stand and tank and 80 litre sump I've worked out it should be around 400kg all set up, maybe a little more due to rock but around 400-425kg. The house is around 150 years old so I'm not sure if I should be getting someone in to check or if anyone else with tanks of a similar size bothered.
I'd rather not get someone over to pull up the carpet and check joists to make sure it's all good if I can help it but I have no clue about the size of the joists but I will say the floor feels very sturdy walking over it (Unlike my upstairs).
I know everyone has different homes but did anyone else take some additional steps on top of what I've mentioned for similar sized tanks?
