Reef octopus HOB making a pulsing noise instead of the constant hum that it usually does

I have a Reef octopus classic 90 on my reef tank (my cab is way too small for a sump) I took it apart to clean it and now it’s making a pulsing humming noise instead of it’s usual constant hum and not generating any foam. Thanks for the help she’s back up and purring.

hi,unplug and replug ,poss couple times??
holding thumb over air intake , usually does the trick.

Sounds like it's having trouble priming. maybe put some water in the HOB chamber?

Just to make sure, if your testing in freshwater it wont work. If it on the tank make sure the water in the skimmer is full. Pinch the air line for 5-10 seconds and let go and see if that helps. If it has an air valve make sure its not shut.

Yeah it sounds like as soon as the siphon starts it loses it immediately.

Lower the intake piece. It might be sucking up air then.
